How Countertops Dearborn Works
Countertops Dearborn measures, fabricates and installs kitchen countertops, islands and bathroom vanity tops in Dearborn, Dearborn Heights and the surrounding western Wayne County suburbs. We work in quartz, granite, quartzite, marble, solid surface and laminate, and we tear out the old tops when you are replacing them.
About 70% of Dearborn's homes were built before 1960, according to Census-based housing data. Kitchens that age tend to have walls that are not quite square, floors that have settled, and cabinets that have been changed more than once. We plan around that from the first visit: we check the cabinets for level, look at how the old top was attached, note the sink and cooktop, and ask how you actually use the kitchen. A household that cooks big meals every day needs a different layout, seam plan and edge than a kitchen used for coffee and takeout.
After the estimate you get a written quote that lists the material, the square footage, the edge profile, each cutout, tear-out and disposal, and any plumbing reconnection. Nothing is cut until you approve the quote and the final template.
How we work
- Cabinets are checked for level and shimmed before templating, not after.
- Seams are planned with you and placed away from the sink and cooktop where the layout allows.
- You see the slab or the layout on the slab before fabrication when you choose natural stone.
- Old tops come out with the sink and faucet disconnected cleanly, and the debris leaves with us.
- If a plumbing or wall change needs a City of Dearborn permit, we tell you before work is scheduled.
- You pay for work you approved in writing, and changes are agreed in writing first.
